New design!

New design!

If you visit my site frequently – you’d notice the design has changed recently. It’s been quite a while since I wanted to start over and actually start writing. In this post, I’ll discuss what has changed and what you can expect in the future.

First of all, I’ve changed the overall theme of the website. I’ve been on the lookout for a great theme for a while now. One of these days, I was browsing Themeforest for a “Personal Blogging Theme”. While browsing, I saw a theme that caught my attention – it was “Tabor” from Rich Tabor. I took it for a spin and liked it so much that I ended up buying it.

The theme is pretty simple in design – which is something I liked a lot. It is also very customizable. I particularly loved the option to toggle night mode and font-size, you can try it yourself by clicking that fancy gear icon on the top right corner.

Next, the obvious choice for a CMS was WordPress. I’ve been using WordPress for almost 6 years now and I find it very powerful and equally easy to use. It has been my goto CMS for close to 5 years now and I’ve made quite a lot of websites using it. Because this is a self-hosted install of WordPress and I couldn’t miss out the awesome features of WordPress.com – I’ve connected my site to it using Jetpack.

Technobooz is currently hosted on Pressable – a pretty powerful managed WordPress hosting service. They have been recognized as “Top-tier WordPress performance in WordPress Hosting Benchmarks“. The interface is fairly simple to use as well.

Apart from all of this, I’ve decided to try and write every weekend. I have tried this before but it hasn’t exactly worked out. 😛 You can call this one of my “New Year’s Resolutions”. I do have some topics in mind which I’ll discuss in the coming posts (hopefully). For now, you can expect these posts in the upcoming weeks:

  • How I got my dream job at Automattic.
  • Which Mac OS applications I use on a daily basis?
  • Why is customer support important.

Thank you so much for reading! 🙂
